The graphic panel is a highly distinctive part of our brand that brings together all of our key elements in one cohesive unit. It is comprised of the logo panel and the headline panel.
The logo panel
- The logo panel (top) contains the white out version of our logo.
- A secondary position for a department name
The headline panel
- The headline panel contains the communication’s headline and supporting copy (if required), our web address and the arrow device.
- When applying colour, select one colour only for the logo panel and the headline panel.
The logo panel is always set as a 100% solid colour.
Our colours can be used flexibly across our communications and have not been allocated to a specifi c department or service.
When applying the graphic panel on an image use a transparency of 70% – 80% to ensure that the image is visible through the panel.
- When the communication has a white background only, the headline panel is set as a tint of 80% of the selected colour.
All of the key elements are white out of the colour. It is essential that the background colour and image have a enough contrast to ensure the key elements are legible at all times.

x = the height of the ‘L’ from out logo.
We have defined some standard sizes:
A4 x = 6mm
A5 x = 5mm
Third A4 x = 4.5mm

Department name Helvetica Neue 55 Roman.
A4 12pt/12pt A5 9pt/9pt Third A4 8pt/8pt
Headlines Helvetica Neue 75 Bold, all capitals.
A4 40pt/38pt A5 32pt/30pt Third A4 22pt/20pt
Headlines can vary in size depending on their length. Three is the preferred number of lines, but this can increase to four if required. If using supporting text that is over 3 lines adjust the depth of the headline panel to accommodate the extra line. For more impact short headlines of one to fi ve words can be set at a much larger size than indicated.
